Blown Bulb Indication

I recently had a blown headlight bulb and would have expected a message informing me of this failure but nothing appeared. Does anyone know if such a failure should be reported, I'm surprised that a car that gives you so much information cannot inform of a failed bulb.

BTW it's a b****r to change a headlight bulb on these cars!

regards,

keggers

Hi,

Apparently the RT3 system can show these warnings, but it is not implemented on the Ulysse, same as the fact there is no low washer fluid warning.

A shame as these are key safety issues which would have been simple to do.

Actually, its a bit of bu**er to change the bulb on a lot of cars!

On my Mondeo, front grill has to come right off, plus all the screws for the headlamp unit and then you can get access to it i.e. the whole unit has to come away. Refitting is the same as removal, although height adjustment then messes up!!

Once I come to change the Ulysse ones, I will also try those new bulbs, I think Poggy now uses them.

On my uno, you remove two clips and the rubber thing with the bulb in pulls away.

On my dad's scenic (they went wrong when i took it away last year for the first time!) you unscrew a big black circle (like a jar top), remove two clips, refitting is reversal.

Why do they make it so difficult?!

As someone has said, it's stupid it doesn't give a warning, most decent cars do nowadays, "Rear passenger side brakelight out, replace" I heard when we test drove a Renault Safrane...

One thing that I find interesting about the car is the 'tightness' of it all under the bonnet!

Even filling up with oil is tricky, just not enough space and I always end up spilling some. I do buy the big containers, though! And the brake fluid - just impossible. I mentioned this to a dealer, and I think they are not too sure either.

Hi,

On the petrol version, the service when they change the spark plugs has a huge labour cost, probably because they have to remove a lot of trim to reach the plugs.
