Service Indicator light

Hi,

My spanner has come up on the dashboard, and now says -50 miles!

Yet the car has only done 8300 miles, and was registered 1st September 2003 - it can't be due a service until the end of August, surely. Unless engine management system has picked something up?!

Have a week of work next week, so will take it down to dealer at long last!!!

Stu

Hi Stu

I wonder if it wasn't reset at delivery and has used the build date instead.

Shrek,

When I last drove the car a few days ok, everything seemed on course for an August service! Then I noticed it today, as if something else is amiss, and the spanner light came on????!

No, nothing too amiss!

The odd fuel depollution message, lol. The car seems to be running fine! I need to get it to garage for a lot of issues, just hard during the working week.

I've not seen the indicator come up because of a time interval - My car is 10 months old and I'm 2500 miles off the second service. :D

There appears to be a time interval warning. Mine was over 1 year old with 2000 miles when I bought it. It'd had it's service but the indicator hadn't been zero'd so it flashed and showed -200 miles. The garage reset it and it started counting the mileage down as normal.
Unless it's reset at delivery it will be inaccurate.

I'm sure I read in a manual for another car that the service interval also takes account of driving style eg short trips.

Have you been caught out by something like this?

Paul

Stu,
Does the workshop manual have pin outs for the radio? After all the conplaints of RT3 phone quality I may put my Nokia kit in and it would be nice for it to mute the radio when in use.

If that were the case I think mine would be wanting a full servive every 6-8000 miles (not 12000)! :D

Turn Ingtion Off. Keep Your Finger On the Trip Reset Button And Turn The ingtion ON. What for the counter to get to 0. Then let go. Select the same CFG, by keeping your finger on it again until it resets, usaully about 10 seconds again. This works for all ulysee's old and new.. FIATEXPERT

Be careful if you are going to remove the radio because some have a fibre optic link in the back along with the other multiplug take off the long plastic tray thats between the radio and the dials it should lift up the pull radio out a little then unplug it and then withdraw it. Better safe than sorry!!
