How do you get rid of ...

Evening,

Can anyone enlighten me as to how to get rid of the message "Emergency & Breakdown Calls deactivated" on first entering the car and switching it on. I can get rid of it by pressing 'Menu' but wondered if anyone had sussed out a permanent fix?

Thanks[8D]

Hi Leigh,

This is an old subject that comes up now and again!

Have you actually registered the Connect service yet? This is one way to get rid of it. Otherwise, it is a question of putting it onto the Examiner system at the local dealer, and let them play with it!

Then job done.

Thanks Guys. Sorry for the 20 questions but how do you register for the Connect service then. Do I have to contact Fiat?

Ah, ok then!

You should have been given a form from the dealer! Look back on this section, should all be in there. One I started, if I recall.

Here it is - http://www.fiatforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3348

Hi,

As you have an 03 car (I presume from your signature), I believe you should have had 2 years free connect, it was then reduced to 1 year. It would be worth checking with the connect service in Italy.

I will try and dig out the number for you.

Andy
