any advice would be good

i have got a Ulysse 1996 there is a bad knocking coming from it could it be the gearbox as i dont think it the cv as it there all the times while driving we did take the wheeles off and saw a hole in the cv boot and it was dry so does any one have any

A dry CV joint with a punctured boot doesn't sound good.
If you find an empty car park try driving in a tight circle one way then the otehr. If the knocking is much worse in one direction that the otehr it's a good pointer to a CV joint problem.
