Hi all and a question about performance

Hi,

I have just purchased myself an '04 plated Ulysse 2.2JTD Prestigio (it's amazing the amount you get compared to Peugeot or Citreon - well kept secret!).

I'm really very pleased with it, but am concerned about the performance - I'm not really into doing any major work with it, but I do want to check if it is about right. I took it for a run last night after work to see what it could do and was suprised to find that it couldn't make 100, it got stuck at around 97/98 mph. I am not overly bothered if this is normal, but I was expecting it to at least get close to the posted 110 that they advertise. Anyone with any views.

Cheers muchly,

Brock.

Re: Hi all and a question about performance

I have the same car different trim and it does just about reach the quoted figures. Do you have car mats that are loose? as they have a tendency of slipping under the accelerator pedal which may prevent you from flooring it completely. The othe point is have you tried doing a timed mile with the pedal floored using you speedo odometer. If you complete the mile in under 37 seconds (I think) then it is going faster then 100MPH and what your speedo is reading. Just in case the odometer is also not right then you could try testing it between motorway signs, like 1 mile to the next exit etc.

Re: Hi all and a question about performance

Hi lou,

No I don't have car mats yet, but I haven't checked the speedo accuracy - I'll give it a go and see how i go, i know where there is a measured mile. I might also put it up against my TOM TOM as that has a really accurate speedo reading.

Brock.

Re: Hi all and a question about performance

Good Luck!

I have recalculated I think it needs to be under 36 seconds.
