RT3 unit radio not working.

Hi,

This is my first post but have lurked for a while and picked up some good pointers. So here goes. Hope I can return the favour soon.

I have a 2003 2.2JTD Ulysse with the standard RT3 unit in it that includes cd radio sat nav phone.

Abruptly the AM and FM radio bands have stopped working. I cannot get any reception apart from static. Everything else works fine?

What do you think:

Aerial problem?
Faulty tuner on RT3 unit?

If the later does anyone know someone who can fix. Don't fancy buying a new unit.

I'm interested to see how this thread goes, as mine is the same as yours. It was fine up until 6 months ago, but now only plays CD's (no radio).
I do remember a post months ago, with someone who had the same problem, but they ended up just buying another RT3 Unit (on Ebay) for approx £100.

Have got some time tomorrow and a set of RT3 removal pins so am going to check arial is Ok.

If not then a faulty tuner module it is. I was given the details of a man who could fix RT3 units from the Eurovans forum but he is based in Germany. Can't find anyone in the UK.

The only issue with getting a second hand RT3 is that it has to be coded to the car by the dealer. What's the chances of that going smoothly???

My radio stopped working after my car went to fiat agent for repair, when asked to reinstate the radio they wanted £25 for the code. I rang Fiat HQ the radio has no code . they told me to disconnect - then reconnect then reset the radio channels as the preset channels had been changed by broadcaster. I did as I was told , searched and the radio works again fine

Hi, I have the same problem, It turns out to be the tuner needs to be replaced. Have been told this is specific to this particular model so scrap yard or ebay seem to be the only source other than an expensive replacement. Regards Barbara
