Morning all. As I couldn't find anyone that could get hold of a CD changer, I took matters into my own hands and came up with what I think is a better solution anyway. I have fitted a FM modulator that eventually will be linked to a MP3 player when it comes. At the moment it works a treat with my Dell Axim acting as the MP3 player. Its got a 256Mb SD card that holds about 6-7 albums. Looking at getting a 20Gb player that will hold about 2500 songs which makes the CD changer look a bit daft. Estimated cost of the set up - Modulator £30-40, 20Gb MP3 player £150. I think that compares pretty favourably against the CD changer.
Now for the bad news. Whilst pulling the aerial cable back to fit it to the modulator, I cut a piece of tape off and managed to nick (what I later found out to be) the GPS cable to the head unit. I have affected a temporary repair that seems to be holding up, but I wondered if anyone knows how far the cable goes back and where the GPS receiver is located (presumed to be a part of the roof aerial?). Is the final section to the head unit a short length that comes from a local connector or does it go to the receiver in one length (disaster)?
Sorry for the long post and hope that some one can help.
Cheers![8D]
