workshop manual

Does anyone know where I can get tech info for my '96 2000EL. Haynes obviously don't publish a manual for this series of vehicles.
Also can anyone tell me the torque settings for the caliper bolts, and the location of the Lambda sensor?

Similar question posted by aridle (04/06/04).

This was the reply from gball:

"Hi aridle

I bought one from the French Amazon site, it is of course written in French but I could manage to workout what info I needed.
You need to search for; Revue Technique automobile Fiat Ulysse. The publisher is E.T.A.I. the ISBN 2-7268-8559-4

Hope this is of some use.

Regards Gordon"

I got my copy of this French manual yesterday (from Amazon.fr), and it looks useful.

For brake caliper torque settings, I posted this question a few months ago:

"Can anyone tell me the tightening torque for the front brake caliper bracket bolts on a 1996 Ulysse 1.9td ?"

and got this reply from carman:

"caliper to hub = 57 Nm
caliper to bracket 24 Nm"

I fitted my brake calipers to these torques, and 1400 miles later all seems well!

To help with the Lambda sensor, I'll have to have a look in the new manual and get back to you, unless anyone beats me to it.

When I changed my discs and pads it all went remarkably smoothly.

Best of luck.

Just shows you that people pose questions without reading the forum first :D

The search facility should now be working.

search works if there aren´t too many topics containing the words:(.

Ever thought about having a bigger word, most people won´t even notice there is a search until we say so.

The search facility is now well documentated in the forum itself, Ben has just recently improved it.

However, I agree that maybe a lot of people only come direct to the Ulysse bit, and miss the rest of forum.

So guys, try SEARCH above :)

Not keen on frech manuals!
Thanks for the torque settings. I have now had a complete exhaust system fitted inc cat & lamda sensor. The emissions are now equivalent to a new car. interestingly fuel consumption has improved only slightly to 31mph (my route to work is mostly m/way & not much stop start). Tickover is slightly splashy but I did see elsewhere in this forum that the idle valve can be cleaned although there seems to be a large plastic housing to remove 1st, & it's not obvious how it comes off. Partco sell a genuine NKG Lambda for £50 or so, and Cats UK will next deliver a Cat for £160.
I fitted new discs and pad, again from Partco (Unipart) with mixed success- the pad wear light comes on intermittently although the wires are not shorting at the calipers. Also although the brakes are good, there is a lot of pedal travel before they bite which is not reassuring. the pads are well bedded in, the pedal is hard with the engine off but becomes spongy on starting. This indicates to me that the cross likage is fine and that the extra travel is coming from the servo. Any one had this one??
