Fault light on, struggles to get to 40mph

03 Ulysee has thrown on its Engine Management Light and now wont go over 40mph.

Is there anyway of getting the fault codes out by bridging any pins on the diagnostic port?

Is this a known fault?

Thanks

Re: Fault light on, struggles to get to 40mph

The car is in a "Recovery Mode" to prevent possible damage to the engine. this is common when the EOBD light is illuminated. Did the LCD information panel display any fault message when the EOBD light was originally triggered?

Sometimes if you swicth off the engine and restart, the "Recovery Mode" does not activate and the car will drive normally (Although the light may stay on).

Advice would be get an Indy or heaven forbid a Dealer to plug the car into the diagnostic kit to idnetify the fault.

There is a compartment to the right, near the drivers knee when you are sitting down - the port is under there, I seem to recall

Hi

Where are you. We have a Launch X431 diagnostic system that I could borrow and help you out if you want?

Rich.
