Hi
has anyone any idea on the price of 2007 uk maps and even a price on a European set of maps for the RT3 type navigation system.

i got my wife to price the uk ones on there on and Fiat were looking for £160
just wondering if any other country would be cheaper to buy them from?

Darren

I'm unsure of what the RT3 Navigation system is i'm assuming its one built into one of the models of fiats, which one? And can you be more specific about the software thats on it.

Are you wanting to legaly purchase these discs? Or to get them on the cheap by other means. With the first i guess your options are limited is its a fiat system that cant be hacked to use other maps, so either you'll need to buy them from fiat or get a copy of them from somewhere and a key if needed.

I dont know the system so cant comment on what can and cannot be done, but usually you'd get the cd's if its an internal system and there would be someway to update the internal software.

Also for £160 you could buy another GPS device which might come with European mapping, or be more easily upgraded.

Hi mountainmachine
The maps are for the system that is in the Ulysse (04 plate).
i have been looking on ebay for maps and nearly got stung for £25 for a copy of one. my dealer want to charge £160 for a 2007 uk map but i when i was looking through ebay i seen some for around 60 euro's.
i now the new 2007 maps have traffic management stuff on them but can this be used with the monochrome rt3 on the ulysse?

As far as I know you can but you need the RT3 software to be version 5.5 for this to work. In fact you may need this version of the software for these maps to work at all. Stuart may be able to answer this.

i seen this post and stuart
https://www.fiatforum.com/ulysse/72041-fiat-rt3-monochrome-display-tmc-2.html
has a colour display showing the TMC working, I just dont know if it will work as good so would i maybe be better buying a 2006 map.

how much can you pick up the cheap disk for ?

Hi

You really need the latest 2006/7 maps, which encompass the TMC codes. You will also need the latest firmware, as Lou said.

As for cheap, I will send you a PM :)

Hi Stuart
the link that i posted earlier to your display will the TMC stuff look as good on my monochrome display (will you get as much detail or information)

Thanks for the PM

Darren, on the last page of the RT3 manual Stuart posted in the thread you quoted, there is some information about how the TMC will work on a monochrome display. I now have the 806 - with TMC, but I didn't realise that I could get the RT3 to read aloud the TMC posts, must have a look for that option.

Thanks Robert M
i thought that link in the thread was for a software update, so i never looked at it until now (it is printing off at the moment)
