Technical tipo and tempra engines/gearboxs

slightly off the subject but might as well put it here as its about gearboxes

i got a 1.4 carb. 'n i was wondering about the gearbox oil. i don't think it's been changed since 2001? or three years at least. shouldn't this be done every year? do i need to get this done or is it something that shouldn't make much difference?

Bunny's parents had both a TD Tipo and a TD Tempra. I think they were geared differently with different clutch hydraulics. The engines had some small differences too. Case of same block, maybe same gearbox case, but different ancillaries.

Tipo and Tempra have the C510 gearbox fitted on the 1.9TD Engine code 160 A6
Tipo and Tempra were also fitted with the 5M gearbox on the TD. Engine code 160 A7
Gearbox oil should be changed every 3 years to be on the safe side.

Can use multigrade in them if you want. None hypoid gears. Or use a 80/90 gear oil.
