Have any fellow Sedici owners had problems with MAP sensors? If so - what were the symptoms please?

I've had running problems for a long time now that several garages have been unable to resolve, and I wonder now whether this might be the cause.

Thanks a lot!

I have no answers specific to your tipo but please post your running problems , forum members would love to give suggetions.
Is your fuel injection fault light on?

or you could just change it yourself for a new one and post your results.
I had to swap one on a lancia dedra turbo last week .
Easiest way , disconnect battery, remove cover from relays on bulkhead behind engine(3screws), unbolt relay bracket from bulkhead (3 bolts) , gently tip left hand of relay bracket down and right hand up . MAP sensor retained by three m10 nut to underside of relay bracket right hand end. be gentle with rubber tube to inlet manifold if tube hardened by age find a new tube(fuel hose?) reassemble.

Thanks so much for your quick reply!

Problem is:

- Engine fires up fine and runs for about 10 minutes, no problem
- Once warmed up, engine will not pick up revs easily from idle, and floods before stalling
- If the revs are kept up it won't stall, but it still splutters
- When it does stall, it won't fire up again until the engine has completely cooled back down.

Seems to run better in warmer air temperatures

Replaced the HT leads, crank position sensor, water temperature sensor, air filter. So the MAP sensor was my next consideration, along with possibly idle control valve?

thanks for your guide to how to change it. I'll look into it, although I cannot find a Bosch sensor on ebay.

just wrote a comprehensive reply and had to log back in and it was gone!!

map part number go into eper , its in blue strip above.
find your car ,find your model , find your engine, find map sensor part number.
search ebay for matching part from QH , intermotor etc around£25

I don't think its idle valve ,this wouldn't cause non revving.

If you keep revs up before it stalls is there black smoke from exhaust?

After its hot and wont restart, remove ht lead from centre of distributor cap , hold it near cylinder head and get someone else to crank engine , do you see lots of strong sparks?
If you have a heart problem don't do the above. do hold lead with an insulated tool and don't hold it near the exposed end.

check vacuum hose on fuel pressure regulator , this should be completely free of fuel.

post results for more suggestions.

Thanks so much for this!! not sure if it's something I can attempt myself, so i'll take it to my local specialist and ask them to carry this out. Hopefully get it done in the next couple of weeks and will post an update. So grateful for your help!
