I don't see why the gearing is being discussed, unless you think somebody put very small tyres on the car?

From the handbook, the following Maximum speeds in Km/Hr are given...

1st 43
2nd 74
3rd 113
4th 160
5th 161
Reverse 43

The catalytic converter can collapse and fail with old age, has this been changed or checked?

Otherwise if you are confidem=nt with all the wiring and sensors like the lambda probe, I suggest you take off the cylinder head and clean it up and reseat the valves, then adjust the shim clearances. I think a long life of slow city driving can make things a bit blocked inside....

This is the gearbox of the tipo 1.6 carb. I suposed the 1.4ie is similar.

Grupo 3,38 km/h 1.000 rpm Salto
1ª 3,909 8,4
2ª 2,238 14,8 1,7
3ª 1,469 22,5 1,5
4ª 1,043 31,7 1,4
5ª 0,849 38,9 1,2

reverse. 3,909 8,4

But you should also change the temperature sensor at the rear of the inlet manifold, this gives and input for the ECU fuelling.

Clean out the oil breather hose and engine block connector that leads from the crankcase to the air filter box, this becomes full of old oil and grease.

Hi,
i'm looking for the temperatura sensor at the rear of the inlet manifold....but where is:eek:?
At the Porter manual does not look good in photos. It's easy change it? or i must go a mechanics?

I think it's the manifold or otherwise the cylinder head... It is the only thing in that area with a cable going to it.

The part is this..

It is not easy to remove unless you have a deep socket (1mm?) or ring spanner, but to remove and replace it doesn't matter if you break the plastic connector.

I don't understand your economy gauge readout, you obviously believe that this shows a problem. If it works on manifold pressure and is usually indirectly linked to throttle demand, I don't see what other physical problem could cause this effect.
