Hi everyone. I recently bought a Tipo 2.0 IE 16v 146hk in great condition, i fitted an open airintake filter with even better result, untill this morning. Last Night i heard the filter changed sound, i dont have to floor it to make the race sound and it uses alot of gas and oil, i Can only make it go 150km/t and i use to be able to make it to 220 and fast. Can someone tell me hvad to look for? Sat and sun i will take it appart to see if i can fix it

Check your MAS (mass airflow sensor) or MAP (Manifold air pressure) sensors.
Must be somewhere around the air-intake manifold (connected somewhere in or on the rubber intake manifold rubber).
Maybe you can clean it (check you-tube for tips!) but most of the time I think you have to replace it...(not a cheap part unfortunedly...

Check the link
I do know / recognize your symptoms but do not exaclty know with which sensor(s) your type of engine is equipped

I think one of the sensors "wires" has become dirty because you are using "an open airintake filter" as you stated....
Also check your whole intake area (vacuum hoses, rubber intake rubber etc.) for vacuum leaks etc.! Very important to check this first!
Succes!

Hi guys. Thanks for the respons. I went thru all of the above, and i found 3 things wrong underneath. all of these blew almost simultaneously:bang:
1. It was given a new oil sump, fitted by the previous owner, the nuts where not properly fixed and 2 was missing(n) This caused the masive oil spill.
2. A pressure hose for the servo blew just by the nutt, so i cant even fix this with hose and clamps, need a new replacement. (its fu...... hard to turn around corners now XD) 3. and last, the airfilter itself, messed up the intake sencors, so i swithed back to the org airbox, with the kn intake filter fitted. it sound dull now but think its fixed, i will do some test runs this evening and se if the gas lvls are norm again:D

Well i now have been running the car over the weekend, now there is just no pressure, and it still cuts out on the revs, to a neer stall, could it be the crankshaft censor that needs to be changed?? Had a simulere problem with my old 900s saab, and it dossent show on the computer, it felt the same and i know if it is the cs censor and dont change it before it dies on me, i will not be able to run the car.

I pulled of the map censor, and nothing happened??? The car was still running the engine, with no change in revs? Can this be the couse of my problem i hooe so will se if i Can get a new one later in the week

can you drive it with it disconnected..??,
if it's improved then buy a replacement.., charlie

Yes i turned the ignition on, pulled of the plug and went a cupple of 100m before i turned it of... Realy wierd my saab died the instant i pulled the plug and gave it gas!?
