hello does anyone know how much wider the coupe 16vt is to the Tipo 16v front and rear, if you put the full coupe 16vt engine and suspension in a tipo?
Just wondering if the rims i have will clear the arches. I have the 16vt engine now (selling the standard 16v tipo engine thats in the car mot/taxed/running in the classifieds section on here) but am not sure how much wider the track will be with the 16vt suspension, wishbones etc. . would be nice to know if someone on here has done this conversion as i have some rims but they may be too wide for example Azev A 9x16 and also Revolution 8 and 9 x 15" im sure the 9"s will be way too wide and im not a big fan of stretched tyres so perhaps the 8x15 et 35 will be ok with minor arch mods.
Anyway thanks for reading and hope someone can help also i have the ecu and keycode box from the 16vt and the whole loom too shall i use the Tipo gearboxbox or the Coupe gearbox i removed the complete front running gear from the coupe so was planning to transfer the whole lot into the Tipo.

Thanks

Its about 30mm wider.

The whole turbo suspension wish bones hubs and struts and coupe gearbox and driveshafts. The CV joints are different sedici to coupe - its a nightmare trying to retain the normal track in a turbo conversion. the turbo box is completely different and uses a visco LSD and cable shift so swap the shifter set up from under the car. Use the coupe steering rack as well. I have coupe track on mine. With negative camber you will struggle with 7 inch rims. Youll have to fabricate or put bolt on arches to run 8s and sheck they dont rub the struts.

use the coupe engine loom there are only a couple of bits with mate with the tipos std loom. Then add in the code unit using the coupe's wiring and tape the coupe key to the ingnition surround sensor - you can use the original key in the ignition. I also have coupe rear track - I had to bend the arches in - its an easy swap.

sorry for late reply and thanks a lot for answering thats very useful (y)
