Fiat 1.9 TD reliability

With the Fiat Tipo/Tempra 1.9 diesel engine, what is the reliability like?.
What things wear out fast aside from the cambelt/engine oil, how long will the engine last before rebuild?.
What sort of miles/kms should i expect from the engine, how long will the cam mounted vacuum pump last?.
Is there any thing i should look out for?.
The engine i have i was told has done about 200.000kms.
Thanks.

Re: Fiat 1.9 TD reliability

My servo pump went at 100,000 miles, cambelt tensioners at 140,000 miles, bottom end at 165,000 miles. Engine should proabaly last longer if has been decently cared for.

Re: Fiat 1.9 TD reliability

I just bought a tempra 1.9 td as well. Mine has 169,000 km. It runs great and is super efficient. But it's really loud when it is cold. It goes away when it warms up. The fiat shop said everybody he'd talked to loved their tempra...

300,000miles+ for the father in law's 1.9TD Tipo.

My 1.9 Tipo TD (140,000 miles) engine was strong when I scrapped the car - oil cooler had gone, I had no funds to repair and the milkbottle was waiting in the wings.
