Posts: 277 Thanks: 3 Trader Rating: 0 | Too many wires I got an electric mirror off a J reg to replace mine which hit a Clio. I was surprised to see 7 wires rather than 5 coming off the J reg mirror, with 2 extra black coloured wires. Also, the live and earth (?) are with the other 3 multi colour wires on the J reg, whereas these are on seperate connector blocks on mine. No doubt this is due to Fiat's policy of Continual Improvement but can anyone say why the wiring is different and what I can do with these 2 extra black wires for which I don't have a connection coming from the car???Thanks PS I carefully took some pictures but due to IT messing with my computer I can't upload them!

Posts: 277 Thanks: 3 Trader Rating: 0 | Re: Too many wires The present mirror with the 5 wires IS heated. It has a heating element - and I'm sure it defrosted the mirror glass in Winter, which was handy. A heated windscreen would be better, still, I get a clear view back to the trail of carnage I've caused due to the frosted screen. Hence the mystery remains.......??? Can you think of any more solutions. Possibly the live and return for the motor are combined with the heater in the newer set up? PS thanks alot for the invite, there arn't many diesels on here and its nice to be invited. I'm trying to finish off the car before going to a show, its needs a better bonnet and mirror but I need them spraying up....What is the date, apologies if I've missed it. J
