Central locking, remote

Hello, people.

I own Tipo 1.6 DOHC 1989 and I have a question...

I bought the car and the locking worked fine, then started to go wild, locking and unlockin itslef... So I investigated a bit and found a module, aftermarket, disconnected it, pulled out the CL fuse, because it was draining the battery...

Central locking seems to work fine regarding locking-unlocking function, but it's draining the battery, which means that it is running all the time... I wonder what could cause this, maybe a bad negative connection somewhere (-12 V)?

The other issue is with the remote locking module, that's also poorly connected, it goes crazy when I try locking or unlocking the car with the remote... Car keeps unlockin, or I am unable to unlock it at all...

Anyone knows how to connect the 10 pin Remote device properly, (unfortunately, don't have any kind of scheme).

Re: Central locking, remote

I had this same problem on my 88 DGT - I ended up pulling the relay for the central locking out - came back to it later but couldn't sort it and ended up living without it. Is it possible you could get a non-Fiat central locking kit without the solenoids from Maplin or somewhere like that and wire that in instead? I fitted one of these to a Strada years ago and it was quite easy to install - they aren't expensive

Re: Central locking, remote

Thanks man, I will look up something to get it right.

I know a good car electrician so I'm going to see wheather he could do something to get it work, because I've lost my nervs on this one. HaHa...

But on the other hand, that's FIAT - electrics aren't their best side, but the engine certainly is. Haha...

Thanks again.

By the way, I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
