I wonder if there is anyone out there that can help me to a modified chip image for the sedicivalvole. I'll extract the original data from the chip some day soon(when the programmer is back up and running) and would like to experiment with an alternative chip image in combination with injector size, airflow, rev limit and fuel pressure. Or maybe someone can help me to chip emulating software in which i can see, modify and emulate .bin ecu image's. I know that's a steep learning curve but it combines my freetime interests.

ECU data is following:

IAW 4Q1
155 92
6160010600 7747420 Z12V-
Tipo 2L 16V ECO P8/PQP_RG

The chip image is attached in the zip

If you havent changed the engine then there's virtually no point in doing any changes to the chip. It would all be guess work, inlike using RPlabs S/W on the RR, along with some other changes like a cam.

Rich, it would be nice though to compare the .bin data to lets say a coupe 16V non turbo version as the sedici has another cam profile. I found out that as a software i can use TunerPro only i have to rewrite, mod, a xdf file to match the hex data from the bin. It might be that there is an .xdf available around here i can use ? You know i have a spare engine which i can fool around with as much as i like, it is still in tipo2 so i could setup the whole thing live.

I have images actualy screens rather of the mk2 ignition timing from RPlabs I used it to compare the advance on the first engine - which the rolling road guy detonated to hell, the comparison showed the advance to be sod all. Anyway thats a diff story. You might have lick on the german tipo forum.

Thanks, will have a look tomorrownight, found a nice easy schematic to build a smallband led display to see what the lambda is reading now and if there is any need to change anything at all. I'll try to make it next week if the chip is available, it should be cause it is very common.

Probably they have beards there, the sites don't work, neither of'm

Jippee ! I'll do some looking over there too.

here is another ecu image I have for TIPO 16V

The hex addresses that might interest you are :
1} Ignition v.s. rpm breakpoints at : aa-0 to ab-f
and the math formula to calculate the rpm breakpoints is :30000000 / DecValue (16bit)
2} Ignition vs. “air density” breakpoints at : ac0 to adf
can't tell you the math formula to calculate these breakpoints because I do not know the MAP sensor type that TIPO 16V 2.0 lt use.
and
3} Ignition base curve-map, at ae0 to b7f
and the math formula is DecValue/4 {8bit}.

You could probably use the Coupe 16VT xdf {for Tuner Pro} as the hex addresses are the same for ignition but I do not know about the MAP {air density} breakpoints. I have the one attached but there are mistakes in it.

Regards
Nick

PS.
If you have a reliable xdf for TIPO might be interesting for me to.
Could you post it here?

sorry, by mistake I've attached the same ecu image as the one you've posted.
This is the other one I have.

How nice ! Did you ever try the image you attached ? Is it from a specific tuner or original rom, i'm kinda busy the last few weeks so i didn't get to creating anything in the xdf front. I do get the principal though. The xdf is the translation overlay for the image. a friend of mine has connections at squadra, maybe they can help a little. If you tested the rom and know it's good i'll give it a try.

No. I did not try this map or any other map for the Tipo.
I believe they are both from an original rom - different version though.
You see, I have an Alfa Romeo 155 Q4 of '95 and searching for the authentic Tipo 16V 2,0 lt ecu image {map} came up your post. I'm thinking seriously to mount in my car {Q4} the inlet cam from the TIPO 16V 2,0 lt - the one from the 5 doors TIPO, with lift at 10,150mm - and I'm curious to see the advance curve from the authentic rom used with this cam. Do you know if your 5 door tipo mounts this cam? It should be.

Any way if I can be of more help let me know.My e=mail is '[email protected]'

regards

Nick

PS.
If you ever find a used inlet cam for TIPO with 10.150mm lift please let me know - if it's not too much for you.

Yep Both of my tipo's have the original high lift sedici cams. Its always nice to speak to another enthousiast. Will you attend the brooklands meet ?

Every now and then i might be able to get a hold of a cam set, but most sells are complete with the rest of the engine still attached :)

Dear arno,

It will be quite a trip to make all the way from Greece to Brooklands meet, so I think I'll wont be able to.

As soon as I'll find my notes for the Tipo's-Coupe's ecu image hex addresses I'll post them to you. I do not have the complete maps addresses but for a start I hope they could be of some help.

Nick

ps.
If you ever be able to get a hold of a cam set please let me know. Mostly I need only the Tipo's sedici high lift inlet cam as I'm going to use the original inlet cam {Q4s} as an exhaust cam.

all 5 door tipo sedicis use the high lift cams as far as i'm aware. are you on alfa155.org? Pics of the Q4 would be appreciated :yum:

mmm, still there is a chance we'll meet up in the future. I have an italian trip planned for this summer, from the netherlands trough zwitserland to italy, visit ferrari drive to reggio de calabria and take the boat to sicilia then we might head of to greece next and then drive home.......4 weeks pure bliss.

I believe we {my 19 month old twins, my wife and I} will stay here in Athens for this summer, except August {hopefully}, so everything is possible.

Yes, I occasionally post at alfa155.org but not that much. Mostly I do it at the forum of www.berlinasportivo.org

My Q4 is not any different of a simple 'rosso proteo' widebody 155 and I even removed the 'Q4' badge from its tail. It has more fun to see the surprised faces of the other 'fast' drivers when an almost 15 years old 'Alfa' starts to accelerate and enter in the corners in high speed. They usually think that I'm out of my mind and they do not hesitate to tell me that, but I'm not driving with flat gas. It's just a good permanent 4x4 Alfa {Lancia to be honest} and handles very well. It's also very difficult to lose grip, even when the tires are 'burn' to plastic.
To tell you the trough, the Q4 is my wife's everyday car. My car is the black 105 Bertone you can see in the photo. It's more fun to drive fast the Bertone and I believe I {we} will never let go both of these cars.

Here are a couple of photo of both of them - do not have any more here.

Regards

Nick

Both are nice car's ! I spotted a Delta HPE in the breakersjard today, the ecu still in. Saturday i'll rip the chip out and make a photo of the ecu's id sticker, read it with the programmer and post it here. I don;t know what engine it is, it is a twincam 16v non turbo engine which looks a lot like a sedicivalvole engine. Who knows we'll have another image to compare...
