Re: what have you done for her lately

Jon boy that bush kit will be a good thing. Going up the motorway I think your back wheels were splayed outwards it will bring those wheels back to vertical again - and if there as bad as mine were - your car will sit an inch higher at the back and the whole suspension will start working like in unison again like it was designed to !

Yesterday I had my front seats professionally repaired sewn up on the seams where they'd split and on the drivers seat the foam put back and into the proper places. Another inch higher !

Cheers

Jonti

Re: what have you done for her lately

got a decent insurance quote for next year so justification for keeping the sedici for another year i think there's new idle valves on ebay 3rd party, but not sure if the idle valve is at fault on my car

hellcat didn't you have a problem with idle after fitting a new idle valve?

Mine was fine after it was fitted - still owe Gaz for it.

Money is tight right now so she's off the road in a nice dry garage.. went to start her up the other day and nothing... someone has a drain on the battery

Re: what have you done for her lately

Got rid of that awful blue 'FIAT Automobil' sunvisor I have been wrecking the car with, got rid of all of the daft stickers other than the Supercortemaggiore ones on the doors, cleaned the outside, FINALLY got my sticky dashboard cleaned up, got my new glove compartment lid from Sedi_2000 (who also kindly provided me with the dashboard bayonet bulb holders I have been after for two years) put some new Alpine speakers in the rear pods which have also been empty for the last two years, Vaselined the exterior plastics, and blackened the tyres *pant* *pant* although I also realised I have two baldy tyres

Just need that digital dashboard now!

I put my vortex generators on my boot - they were from the States, the exact same colour as my car and they look the b0ll0cks - I know they are just for show, but so are proper spoilers, skirts and alloys hahahaha

Jon - can you PM me the link to your bassbox please? I need one so would be interested - also WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO SIGNWRITE MY CAR?

Do they do Recaros in tartan or check? - the only thing stopping me from getting new front seats is they don't do any 1990's patterns! Anyway mine are quite comfy.

Does anyone know any decent upholstery products other than these CRAPPY sprays that don't seem to work? My front seats are looking a bit mucky

Have a look in the Cento guides, there seems to be a good one in there for cleaning interior.

Re: what have you done for her lately

Gonna treat her to a good wash and polish inside and out. Then if weather stays dry (as its been raining alot lately) i may get around to putting the red vinyl jonboy sent me along the now orange strip that goes round the bumpers and skirts.

Also need to take my cold start valve off and give it a clean as sometimes the car will start but if i go to pull away will cut out

Re: what have you done for her lately

Well done Johnboy for finding some Recaros. They must be a s rare as rocking Horse.........these days. I would be interested in hearing what you think of them - they transformed my car as i now sit lower and don't fall out of the seats on corners!

regarding the question of cleaning seats. I don't think any of the cleaner you buy work. I have always used soap and water + elbow grease! and Vanish stain stick + 1001 carpet spot cleaner with a stiff brush.

One tip - if you can get the white lines in the tarten to clean up it has the effect of really "lifting" the pattern.

Re: what have you done for her lately

is it possible to remove the seat covers? probably is, but not easy? then just chuck 'em in washing machine lol.

fitted the new idle valve, now runs nicely, slightly worried by the chugging noise i heard when first started up, but that was coming from the air filter, obviously as the valve was doing it's job?

is the idle valve the one that is connected to the other end of the small pipe that leads into the main air filter pipe?
