air filter for tipo 1.6 dohc

any ideas how to fit a cone air filter on a tipo 1.6 dohc mk1

yep

from the looks of things you should be able to fit one in the wing, near where the plastic cover currently takes its air from. though it depends upon what sort of fitting it has underneath the plastic. it may be limited space though for clearence.

as you're pretty aware this engine is pretty rare so you're probably one of the only people on here with one.

Why would you fit a cone airfilter?
It will suck in hot air and reduce HP this way, and it will make a lot of noise too......!!!!

You can't isolate it completely from the hot air, because it will freeze otherwise...
You need some kind of airbox with a thermostat......something like... the factory airbox.....!!!!

does it have a carb or is it injection? if you're after power increase have you tryed to see if a high performance replacement filter is available?

Right, you will gain like 2-3 HP, which will be VERY noticible....

if it's combined with a freer flowing exhaust then it'll help the engine breathe. but like you say it's marginal increases. it all depends upon the existing set up. which tends to be quite good in most cases with tipos.

it is injection and the exhaust is motech... there is no midle
chamber... and im not gaining 2-3 hp ... if you can`t answer my questinon don`t write pointeles posts...
