General Calling all tipo owners!

My Grandfather bought it in 1994, with only 16K kilometers.. since then it is in the Family :) He said me that this one was made for Autoshows...

22 years in the family - wow, sounds like a great car! You're getting close to 5 posts, so stick a couple of random comments up and let's see pics of your Tipo. :) Does it have a name, by the way? Most cars on here seem to have them!

Cheers,
Camo

Here it is :)

Hi Guys , I may be a new member but I have had a lifelong obsession Fiat cars ever since I bought a Fiat 128 over 30 years ago.

Here is my Fiat Tipo 1.4 DGT 1990 , just over 74,000 miles on the clock and only done 6 miles since the last MOT in September, I never have it out in the rain any more , best car I have ever had ,it was 1 year old when I bought it for £5,500 from swithland motor company in chesterfield , been together now for 25 years .

Also have 3 other fiats will post pictures very soon .

lovely! Looks beautiful in that silver! When you say long-term project car...what are the big items on your list?

If I had space, I would love a project car like that one! Any more pics of Hayley? :)

I hate the silver !
I bought this 3 years ago to keep for spare parts for my red Tipo as parts are getting hard to come by but when I got it back and had a good look its a mint one and has huge classic potential so I decided to strip it nut by nut , microscopically de rust every part , re paint each part and put it back together, I have been at it on/off for 3 years now and still on the rear end, I have de rusted parts with a combination of shop bought bare metal rust dips and my home made electrolysis bath which I caused a large bang yesterday when a spark ignited some hydrogen gas but no harm done , the rear beam was too large for me to dip so I had it dipped and e coated at prostrip in Nottingham , I have now painted the rear beam in black hammerite and the rear underneath of the car , still building the rear up with all new bushes , shocks, springs, any part that can be bought brand new is been replaced, all nuts/ bolts torqued to the specification in the dealer service manual, my next job is making copper brake pipes, I will post some pics tomorrow when I am back at work.

It's great to see some of the 90s Fiats finally starting to become cherished. Fingers crossed the numbers of cherished 90s cars will start to increase! :)
