I have an electrical problem which cuts out all electrics including dash display when any power is switched on. The dash will reset after a time but as soon as I switch on the lights, wipers, indicator, brake lights or heater etc. everything goes off and nothing works except the engine which is unaffected.
With the ignition off, if the door is opened all the relays in the fuse box buzz.
I have changed the ignition switch and hazard warning relay but to no improvement.
Any help gratefully received. Major panic!!!!!!!!!!

The main battery earth is fine ( engine starts no problem ). I have found two more at the front of the car ( left and right ). I wonder if there are any more earth points. Thanks for the reply, sorry for the delay.

Hi.

I think I have a similar problem on my Tipo too. Have you fixed you problem already? In my case, months have passed between 2 electrical failure events. In either one, I could describe what hapened in a very similar way has you have.

Best regards,
Luis

Adam,

Sounds like an alternator problem, due that the dgt model runs most on electrics the alternator is starting to go and not charging the battery enough.

Ive had the similar problem with mine.

i think you have an altenator regulator problem.with the engine running, check the voltage at the battery.it should read about 13.5 volts.if above, regulator knackered,if way below, alternator knackered.also, check if you can,the earth which goes to the rear of the dash and the main earth wire to the fuse box.
