Hello. This morning I started my Tipo 1.6 without any problem. If relevant, the temperature was just a few degrees below zero. During downhill driving, the engine suddenly lost some power while I was driving in 3rd gear. In the next 200 m, the car just stopped dead and digital instrument table (speed indicator etc.) just turned off.

When I tried to start the car, the starter initiates itself for a portion of the second, and it drops dear. After a few tries, the starter does not respond at all. I left the car for a few moments with everything turned off. After that period, I tried to start it again, but the same happens again - the started initiates itself for a portion of the second and after it won't respond at all.

All lights work when turned on, and when I turn my key, the indicator table works (standard - oil indicator and 4-signaling lights).

I was fueling this morning, I told the man to pour petrol, but some of my friends tell me that there is a possibility that he poured diesel. I presume the fuel has nothing to do with this, but I wanted to mention that anyway.

Thank you for your support in advance.

Cheers,

Hi, and welcome to FF, :)

sorry to hear of your problems..,:(

OK - fuel MAY cause the engine to "lose-power" then stop..
however - the display going off / blank ..this sounds electrical..!!

I suspect there MAY be a problem with the power from the battery,
it should show 12 Volts.

Charlie

maybe the battery (should check it's voltage, it should be around 12V maybe a little bit more, maybe a little bit less) or as you said, the man poured diesel instead of petrol/gasoline (if this is the case fuel should be flushed away) and please don't drive till you get rid of the diesel if that was the case, even if the car started successfully (wrong type of fuel may cause internal damages to the engine I believe)
