General wishbone service problem

I'm fitting new rubber bushes in the wishbone and cant see how to fit the front one. I just cant see how it can go in with the rubber lip that is at both ends.
can anyone advise on how I get it in?

Plenty of lube and ram it in with that lovely vice you have there.
You may have to find a spacer so the end not being pushed can pop out of hole it goes through hole in wishbone.

Oh well I can sense a lot of swearing coming up

Oooooooo yes

Much later on I expect you will see why a lot of people replace the whole wishbone with new bushes already fitted.

Job done
used up all the swear words I know and made up a few new ones.
I was over thinking it brute force and ignorance wins again.

Looking at the rust on that I wouldn't have thought it was worth fitting a new bush jntoy

It's a substantial forging a bit of surface rust won't hurt
