Technical which timing marks????

hi all, im currently having a bit of a problem with my mates fiat panda 1.1. its a 2004 model and it came to me with a head gasket blown,which ive now done.
So was just getting round to timing the engine ready for a new belt,tensioner,and waterpump,and could only find a notch on the head about 9 o clock which marries up to a notch on the camshaft pulley.now the crankshaft gear has a good mark on it but where is the corresponding mark on the block??.
Now according to autodata its on the protruding metal case to the right of the pulley is this right??.any help would be most appreciated thanks

sorry people the lower timing mark on the block is on the left not the right

or there is a little black rubber square on gearbox you can remove this and set TDC by the fly too
