lol i know that! i did 105 (cento speedo so prob 95) by mistake at no where near full throttle while over taking a lorry that for some reason was on this otherwise empty test track. car never even felt strained just VERY smooth. that was at just under .5bar

raising the overall gearing (slightly) might not be hard if you can inspect a few panda boxes. 2 of them have a final reduction of 15/56. our normal sporting have 15/58.. not sure how much of an overall even minus 2 teeth on the diff would have.

Mind you, easiest way to raise overall is to fit 15" wheels. ;)

Aaron (J333EVO) posted a pic -- I think of Blue's speedo -- (you'll find similar on uTube) with the speedo way past 120, I think Martin's car was GPSed at 132 recently. Both have 14" wheels which cuts out the optimism a little. Both 1100 hi-boost tubs.

So the fizz pulled me for driving too slowly on the M6, their opening gambit reassured me they were gonna die in front of judge...

'We have never pulled any one for driving too slowly in one of these before'

ans

'but officer I always drive very carefully'

The 'Gestapo' scan forums like this, stoppit...

Hi Criag

I think this means 5800 rpm at 100 mph would instead be 5600 rpm at 100 no sums involved, sorry.

The non sporting sei 1108 boxes have a very high final, but the intermediate gears are different & further apart, but the OP may want that. It is for a quite life on the M way, my sporting is like a siren on the M way...

Hi Craig

You can use a calculator if you want but that is the ratio difference between the two finals, the actual speed at 5800 or 5600 would be dependent on rolling radius of the rubber wear, and the 5th gear reduction/multiplication.

Dont know if your cinq box is different from the sei, probably in FAQ.

Mine is pretty noisy, it was on sewing machine oil for 4k miles, given up worrying...

Digging through a box in the garage today I came across a pair of gears.

I seem to recall from the dim and distant past that this is a 5th gear pair, but I don't know whether they were ones remove for the fitting of a longer gear set, or if these are the longer gear set.

On the other hand they might be something entirely different.

They came from a former member of the parish along with his 1108 engine i bought.

The gear with the syncro teeth on it has 41 teeth, the plain one 34 teeth.

Any thoughts?
in terms of 5th gear iirc 5th on an SPI box is 1:0.83 which is right on the money for 41/34, so I think you've got a stock SPI 5th gear

Hi Criag

The Sei sporting is 15/58 final - 3.867
The Sei Suite is 16/57 final - 3.562

The suites 4th gear is .974 which means it is comparable with the sporting 5th after you allow for the higher final, so if you have a tweaked engine it may pull the suites very long 5th which is only otherwise useful down hill...

But swapping the finals should be simple, and you would have the close ratio box still.

Bit of a thread bump but does anyone have any of these for sale? We are building a Panda 100HP into a race car.
