Me personally, nothing, I had forgotten that the ATMs out here won't work against my Nationwide account on bank holidays, so I had to stay at home - ha.

In Australia, we get Friday off, the usual Sat/Sun, Easter Monday which is the same as ANZAC Day, in itself a Public Holiday, and so we get Tuesday as a holiday in lieu.

Shame its in the middle of my uni break, so I get it off already

As an employee you do not have the legal right to the day of. As long as they provide you with the statutory 28 days of a year they can make you work any day they want. They can refuse you holiday leave on any day or week of the year.

I'm not sure that's legal, check your contract of employment.

i was told today its a public holiday not a bank holiday, what is the difference?

probably means the banks can still be allowed to be open. not really sure though tbh

Isn't a Public Holiday exactly the same thing as a Bank Holiday?
