Technical Uprating DRLs

Hi, my 500X has the older style filament bulb driving and indicator lights. Has anyone upgraded these to the neer LED style? I am not sure if the fitting is exactly the same and wiring can be made compatible but would be interested to hear of anyone doing this as there seems to be availability on eBa

I’m not sure “updating DRLS” was what you meant.

I did mean the DRL units not headlights. Daytime running lights with integral indicators.

Oh ok, first thing to know about fiats is while the headlights are not usually monitored for build failure things like the indicators side lights and DRLs are,

Fitment wise they are probably much the same but the car might think you’ve got multiple failed bulbs as leds tend to have much higher resistance.

The guy from Ukraine in the thread I posted above might have more info having done the headlight upgrade ?

Not sure on the 500X, but the standard 500 has different mount points for the bolts between filiment and led on the facelift.
