Literally over night this problem has risen.

When turning the steering wheel at low speed/stationary there is a "twang" sound and I can feel the jolt through my pedals.

The springs have been checked, only other thing I'm guessing is the top mounts? Anyone else had this problem..

The car has only done 29000 miles... why have these started to wear already?

Hi,
sounds like tight bearings in the top mount,
they no longer swivel freely..,
then move with a surge..hence the spring going doinggg..!!;)

mileage has nothing to do with it,:(

look in the GP section for more info,;)

Charlie - 2013 punto

okay :) is the only option for it to be replaced? and what needs replacing exactly, the top mount of the bearings?

In the guides section rather than the gp forum.. Thought I might as well give daz a direct link to my guide ;)

I did mine again last weekend went none fiat this time its been almost a yearly job on the evo and my last gp

Worst bit is wiper arm removal I cracked my windscreen a few years ago when the puller twanged off :-(

hmm the effort required to lubricate it, may as well replace them?

yes i just gave people both options if you catch them early or do it as preventative maintenance say when replacing a shocker or broken spring for example but if they are making a racket its best to replace them both (one each side) as the rubber bush wears against the car body
