I'm in possession of an R reg Cinq Sporting in excellent condition and v low mileage for the age. I know its history from new although I wasn't the owner and I love it to bits.

However I face a choice. Either find an owner that will care for it as I would and make sure it doesn't get trashed OR ship it out of the country in the next few months and get it registered elsewhere probably to be hardly ever driven again.

Any views on this dilemma welcome.

OK let me restate the problem.

How do I ensure that whomever buys it really cares about the car as a future classic and doesn't treat it as some tarty chavmobile.

What to look for in potential buyers? If I can't ensure that I'll swallow the expense of exporting it.

well i'm after an affordable 2nd car as a classic, something that will be used to be admired.

pm me with details(y)

kuwait is a bit of a distance from england.

If it was within europe as such, it would be cheap enough to drive it back to england.

although saying that, its about a 8day drive from saudi arabia back to england. all going well of course, and a days rest

when I bought the lil silver 899 cinq for Tom the other day, i had to promise that he'd love her as much as the seller did.

i'm sure there'd be someone out there that loves it as much as you do.

I had the same dilemma re; the Seicento Turbo

I chose to advertise in selected areas only, in the hope an enthusiast would buy. Try specialist club sites and Italian car magazines (y)

I turnt four people down that were interested in buying mine, for the same fear as you have about yours! In fact it scare monged me into keeping it!!

Good luck with the sale :)

I'm very picky about who's going to buy mine and am making sure it goes to a good home  Wouldn't let it go otherwise so it's not been advertised except by word of mouth to selected persons.

Hi Helz :)

Id be interested in offering yours a good home, we are currently looking for a bigger car (y)

Contact me with the details if poss please

i understand the emotional attachment, but face facts, its a cinq, flog it to whoever is willing to pay the most. what happens to it after that makes no difference, its still scrapyard fodder in the very near future.

Funny...........they said that about Mini Coopers 20 years ago. Try to find a decent one at a good price; they have a premium now, but are relatively plentiful (in fact, this applies to most classic minis). There are a fair few in classic circles who are already giving the Cinq future classic car status.

like jug says....

plus you have had your enjoyment out of her, so let someone else enjoy her... and then you can buy something in kuwait,..... like maybe an oil field lol.
