stretching tyres

Ive just ordered a new set of wheels for my bravo, and have a quick question or anyone who knows about tyres/rims.

Ive got a set of good quality low profile 205/40/17 tyres, and have just ordered a set of 7.5j wide alloys. Will i have any problem having the tyres i already have fitted to them? They're only half an inch wider than the 17" blades that they are on now.

No you wont have any problems... i have 8" wide rims and have 205 tires.....

Cheers 4 the advice. I checked with may mate who said it'd be a bit of a stretch and will need bead blasting to get em on but they will go on. Should look good with a stretch tyre over them aswell.

Sorry no pics available just going of what my tyre guy said to me last time i had some tyres fitted, he measured the rim and it was 8" from edge to edge...

Now i know why my tyres wear right up to the tyre wall
