Technical Sticky gear selection.

Hi all. Been having an issue with selecting gears when idling, especially reverse. I'm wondering am I looking at a gearbox or clutch issue. 65K miles on the same clutch. 2008 1.4. TIA.

Can you select the gears easily with the engine off? Does it crunch or just not go into the gate

Members has the 1.4 got a hydraulic clutch like the 1.2?

Thanks for the reply. It selects smoothly with engine off. Has always crunched going into reverse if it doesn't get a few seconds of clutch first (no reverse synchro I presume).

I'm not sure if the 1.4 has a hydraulic clutch like the 1.2 but assuming it has this is the first area to look at as it's a known weakness.
As for reverse crunch, press the clutch select 4th gear then immediately reverse, it will never crunch.
