If its never been removed before and the steering rack hasn't been replaced then don't remove it.
Get steering wheel centralised by wheel a alignment technician.
If it's not straight after wheel alignment go back to garage and tell them.
Best to go to a place with a laser four wheel system that measures the rear wheels as well as front.
