Technical steering lubrication

hi all, fiat ducato x230 1996 (non power steering). steering is stiff and sometimes pulls to left or right dependant on which directon last turned. suspect lack of lubrication to steering system. tyre pressures are correct. ideas please. owned van for 13years so used to driving without power steering. any help much appreciated. ian

Half.seized joint..

Easiest is jack in air.. uncouple the one steering ball joint ( left..or right.. you decide)

Climb in cab.. twirl wheel
any resistance? Make a note .

Recouple.. then same with opposite side..

Looking for the tight side..


If you spot an obvious imbalance..

Listen carefully.. I suspect you will hear a fair bit of noise if its the front dampers upper bearing...as it will set up a BOING from the spring..
