General smoke from carb

hi, we have a fiat punto 60 sx selecta 1995 and i was wondering if anyone can help when engine running smoke is coming from carb. have changed air filters,sparks and oil filter as not much oil in car when we got it. oil seemed to have leaked from rocker cover gasket as there seems to be oil spilt on side of engine so we have changed that aswell. we have been told that it seems that the smoke is just where the oil has spilt onto engine and its just burning off. any ideas

Not really much help, but Punto's don't have carbs. Is it the throttle body your refering to

sorry i have just been told that and yes it is smoke coming from throttle body any ideas

Thats ok, Hope you get it sorted and it's not to much of a big problem

Depending on what punto you have i would suggest that you take the airfilter and such out the way to have a good look at the throttle body, possibly take some pictures for us too.
