Styling Smaller wheels

I know this goes against the trend, but does anyone know if I can get away with putting 14" wheels on my Multi? I want to have a set of snow tyres for ski hols and when weather here is bad, and most guides suggest that you change to a narrower, higher profile if possible for best grip.
