so i want to know how to remove the plastic panels on the columns of the windscreen. are they glued on ? i need to get them off so i can make panels for tweeters

Assuming mk1 and mk2 are the same, they are simply held in place by the windscreen rubber and door rubber.

If you pull the door rubber away from the columns, you should be able to simply pull them off from under the windscreen rubber. There might be some double sided sticky tape holding them as well, but it's not very strong so a good tug will have them off.

The Mk2s are also trapped under the dashboard, just wiggle it around.
