Technical Re-programme???

My gp has had the steering pump/motor replaced by a garage and they phoned me to tell me that when started the dashboard lit up with warning lights. they are taking it to a fiat garage on monday and im hoping its just got to be programmed into the onboard computer.. anybody know if this is the case?

Steering is electrical so its a motor not a pump. And cold weather or poor battery charge can cause the warning lights to appear.

If its a new / reconditioned PAS motor unit it needs to be programmed in and calibrated by the Fiat examiner computer

Yeah its new so im hoping thats all thats got to be done..

Shouldn't be much coming up TBH if they fitted it correctly. Only problems are when they fit a non-ESP PAS column to a car fitted with ESP, and if the PAS column has been rotated a full 360deg before mounting.

this worries me tbh as the people at the garage sound like they literally have no clue.. well its being taken to fiat tomorrow by them so im sure they will point how much of a balls up they've made if at all
