Hello!! My coolant is immediately emptying out as soon as I top it up.. pouring out from, I think, at or near the freeze plugs.. (am I right in saying the freeze plugs are located on metal. Circular and about 3cm across) any ideas where a leak of that size could originate? Thanks (1999 fiat brava 1.9td)

Sounds like Core/Freeze plugs, can you get a photo?
If so has it rusted through or do you get really cold conditions, in which case it may be worth checking for other damage as if it has frozen there can be more. If really cold the engine block can crack also, the core plugs are just the first signs in some cases.
By the way antifreeze is a good idea even if it doesn't get cold as it acts as a corrosion inhibitor also if good quality.
