Technical Quick brake pad queston

Hi Guys
Looking to replace front brake pads on my Tjet sport.

On the pads that are fitted, they have some sort if thin metal shim that fit on the brake pad and the brake pad carrier, I was looking to replace them with EBC pads but they do not come with the new pads. Are they necessary to be swapped or can the new EBC pads work without them?

Sounds like you are talking about the anti-squeal shims . The EBC should be fine as they are, but be prepared for 'taxi' brake sounds if you don't put some copper slip on the back of the pad - (on the metal bit). If you are at all uncertain about brakes then get someone more expert to help you.

just clean the old ones (all four per wheel) grease them and you should be ok

Thanks guys. Wasnt too sure if the shims off the old pads would fit and was asking just in case they broke or something. Thanks again
