My Punto mk2 JTD ELX has an electrical problem
Here are the symptoms:
Mileometer has reset itself at least 3x since Xmas when I turn the engine over
The onboard clock does the same nearly every time I turn the engine on

Any ideas please would be very much appreciated as I want to sell this car fast as I need to pay for my new Brava at the end of Aug and no-one is gonna touch it unless I get this sorted :bang:

Thanks

I have the same problem with Fiat Punto 1.9 JTD.
When I turn off the engine, clock keeps going normaly.
If I leave the engine off for more than an hour or so, the clock resetts to 0:00 on the next time I turn the engine on.
But if the time between engine off and engine on is less then an hour or so, the clock keeps going without resetting.

Any ideas how to fix this?
It seems to me that it started happening after we replaced car battery.

Buy a decent (Fiat) battery.

Hello!

I had new battery when this was happening and it was one of the more expensive models. My problem was the whole indicator board. I was driving with the clock problem for months afterwards, but one day whole board stopped working (speedometer, RPM meter and all leds were off). I had to replace the whole board and this fixed everything, including the clock problem.

The cost of the new board and repairs was around 300 euros.
