Technical Outside temperature not showing on dashboard

Hello all,
I need some help with the following issue:
I have a McLouis motorhome with a 2.3 l Ducato and my dashboard does not show the outside temperature in spite of the fact that the sensor is there and apparently in good condition.More than that,the menu -under the units submenu- only has distances and consumption, whereas it was supposed to also have the temperature.
Any clues?

Is the display showing dots ---

Or just not showing.?

The wiring to the sensor may well be damaged

Possibly..

But chasing the wiring through the DOOR is relatively quick and simple.
