OT. How do i get a website onto Google?

Im wondering how i get a website up onto google listings and what type of meta tags i should use. Are they just single key words or is it a string of words?

I mean if i put fiat bravo in google. www.bravo-guide.co.uk is only 4th on the list. I want that sort of coverage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also im not seeking free ways. I'll pay to get it up on the listings thats no problem. Just want to know which way is best going about it.

It isn't illegal, and it's commonly believed that Google ignores meta tags anyway. If you use them, they should conform to W3 guidelines...

But Google features paid ads anyway, which are always the first listing. A few of my websites frequently appear in the top 5 when searching for specifics and I simply use very descriptive title tags.

Martin, i've already got some package to do it for me similar to what that site does but currently im the one that needs to set it up. Hence the post. Forgot to mention it earlier. I'll need to do some reading and figure it out. Its with 123-reg.co.uk.

Roberto, i'd of thought more from a Forum Moderator. If you have nothing useful to add to any post on this forum then don't say anthing at all. 'Try googling it.' Er Come on!!!! Im asking here as my first port of call as there are web designers, IT persons etc on here who can simplify it for me.

No offense but do you not think that i also will be googling it? Are we just not as smart as you? I mean yeah good start Results 1 - 10 of about 1,400,000 for getting seen on google.

All im saying is anyone can type something into google and paste the results, hey Rob. I was just hoping someone had already done this and could share their experience with me instead of telling me the obvious. Maybe telling me whats good to use and what to avoid. No offense but Roberto's reply was a bit sarcastic. I thought someone could help rather than do the obvious and trawl hundreds of webpages on google.

just for peoples awareness on this but metta tags are not illegal :S not sure where you got that from donnylad,

however although they can help, they do more or less mean cod sh**

its all about content, amout of it in context to a few keywords per page, other wise you would over optimise it and have the adverse effect.

and the main one that seems to prove the best results is inbound and outbound relevant links, but the outbound relevant links would need a page rank of 3 or more otherwise its more or less pointless.

and well thats basicly what ive learnt on the subject.
