Technical Marea Exhaust

I drive a Marea SX 1.6 (2000 model).

The backbox for the exhaust fell off this morning - rusted right through.

Quikfit want to charge me £208 to replace the whole exhaust (all 3 parts). Thing is, I think it is only the backbox that needs replaced.

Anyone any advice of where to go? / and if you can just replace the one part of the exhaust?

Give www.onlineautomotive.co.uk a try, had a middle and back box for my last V6 406 from there and it seemed ok with 2 years warranty.

Just looked for the Marea and it's 72.50, quite a saving but you'll need your engine number.

By the way the 'back' section of the exhaust contains 2 boxes and reaches almost the front of the car!!

Thanks for that mate.

I can see they are just about the same price as Kwikfit for the whole unit.
Hopefully I can just replace part of the unit for a bit cheaper.

The back box went first on my 1.8, although the system is all welded one piece you can just put a hacksaw through the pipe and clamp the new back box over the stub.
