Technical Lost all drive

Hi all nice to meet you, I'll get straight to the point here. I have a 2008 Ducato 3.0 FWD minibus, today while cruising down the motorway at 60mph the bus just lost all drive, after pulling over its lost all drive in forward and reverse. The clutch seems fine, the driveshafts are still in situ. You press the clutch and can select every gear all fine but when you slowly release the clutch it initially bites for 1 second then loses all drive. Has anyone else encountered this before?

Sounds like a stripped input shaft gear or the opposing cluster gear. Will it try to move in 4th gear, which I imagine would be the direct gear?
