General Is their a conclusion to towbar wiring debates?

I have searched the forums and there is no conclusive answer to how to wire a towbar ('05 Ulysse Eleganza). Kits are available on ebay from £65, allegedly someone else got one from Westfalia Mail Order - UK (but I cannot locate) which was simple and easy to fit behind the right rear light cluster.

So,

1. Am I correct to aumme there is no pre-installed trailer wiring connection (what's the spare 6pin and 2pin connector behind the left hand side panel in the boot?)
2. Is there an easy way to DIY by tapping into existing wiring
3. If any one has used a kit (westfalia or ebay) are they worth the money or just a rip off way of saving you DIYing it?
