I posted a few days ago about my alternator problem. Here's the scoop.

I pulled the alternator off today and took it to O'Reilly's auto parts for testing. The alternator failed. I asked if they could get one for me and he looked it up and confirmed. It will be here on Tuesday. The price: $69.00 with core. The price at IAP: $214.00 plus shipping plus shipping on core return. The IAP alternator has a 3 year warranty. O'Reilly's has a lifetime warranty. Both are reconditioned.

IAP has been a great source for me but in this case, not so great.

Same here. Advanced Auto Parts sold me a remanufactured Bosch unit for $73 with a lifetime warantee. I also have bought many parts from IAP, just not an alternator. I usually go to my local parts store first; they rarely have the necessary part, but when they do, it is at a much lower cost.
