Hi All,

My name is Chris Blunt
I am old enough to know better
I have been married long enough to know better
I have 3 children so SHOULD know better

Yesterday, She Who Must Be Obeyed bought a Cinquicento Sporting ( yellow )
P-reg, 70k on the clock.

Having insulted Fiats by the above, I must now add that the best drive I have ever had was a Fiat 128 of J-reg ( at the end! ) vintage. Sadly it only lasted 12 months due to a mixture of tin worm and the rear of a stationary Leyland ( sorry about the language ) Princess.

I am a member of the Yahoo list for my own car ( Citroen XM 2.1TDi sx N-reg) and have found it to be a mine of valuable info & ideas so here I am hoping for the same from members here.

My first question ( probably of many ) is,
How can I tell, presumably from the VIN if the car is a Sporting or just a lookalike?

I am not worried about the price as it was ok whichever, but I have to be sure for the insurance. Why do I have doubts? There are a number of quite obvious "add-ons" !

Thanks in advance for any replies I get.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi Chris

Right, I reckon it is a Sporting, AFAIK there were no yellow S/SXs made. A couple of pics would be good (y)

Sportings have a rev counter in the dash and the S and SX does not.

welcome to the forum (y)
