By way of introduction, I seem to have Fiat products in the blood. I think I have had more Fiat cars than anything else. We currently have a new 124 Spider, a 2012 Ypsilon (converted from Chrysler to Lancia spec) and a project car 1961 Abarth Monomille Coupe.
I will be needing some help regarding the engine of the latter car. I purchased it in a million pieces. It is based on a 600 but the the previous owner converted the drivetrain to 850 parts (gearbox/transaxle etc.). The engine is a 100GBC000*** type bored out to 982cc with take off for external oil filter and cooler. We have tried to start it without success. For info, the oil pump has part no 4182195; the distributor is type S118 AA with clockwise direction arrow. I believe the 850 type engine is supposed to rotate anticlockwise as opposed to the clockwise direction of the 600.
Does anyone have any ideas as to whether these engine related parts are compatible with the engine?
